Taste of Cayman’s Main Stage to feature tribute band of mega-star divas through the decades

Get ready to rock ya head, shake ya leg, or whine up ya waist because our Main Stage performers will have you dancing all night long!

Some of Cayman’s favourite local entertainers and international sounds are coming to Taste of Cayman’s Main Stage as part of the event’s lineup of performances.

Following the festival’s tradition of providing entertainment featuring international tribute bands of renowned musicians, this year’s highly-anticipated main act features the ultimate tribute band of female vocalists embodying the mega-star personas of Grammy Award winners Madonna, Cher, Adele and Lady Gaga.

Collectively, they perform together as the Material Girls, a Canada-based tribute band that covers the best songs from prominent female artists through the decades.

From Madonna’s “Vogue” and Cher’s “If I Could Turn Back Time”, to Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” and Lada Gaga’s “Bad Romance”, Material Girls’ live set sets the stage for a spectacular show combining the essence of these tributed stars.

Cayman Islands Tourism Association’s Executive Director, Jay Ehrhart, sees this act as the perfect addition to this year’s Taste of Cayman festival.

“In years past, we’ve had some incredible live performances, and this year is no exception. These four diva tribute performances, just confirm how epic of an event we’re planning for Taste of Cayman’s grand return. I’m extremely excited to hear the fantastic songs they’ll be performing – and I’m sure the crowd will too,” he said.

The Materials Girls performance starts at 10 pm as the grand finale entertainment feature of the night.

Leading up to this main act is a diverse set of entertainment featuring three of Cayman’s popular musical talents—local rock & roll band, The Fabulous 68’s, singer-songwriter Dan Ebanks, and DJ Rion Kirk.

Kicking off the Main Stage entertainment at 7:30 pm is The Faboulous 68’s, a multi-instrument rock & roll cover band led by lead singer and guitarist Chris Sanchez. The band features a mix of brass, string and percussion instruments, providing covers of popular rock songs.

Born and raised in the Cayman Islands, Dan Ebanks captivates global audiences with his distinctive sound and unique performance style of presenting as a full band using a live looping station.

Then just before the main act, DJ Rion Kirk will present a mixed music set. He is no stranger to Cayman’s entertainment scene, and is known for his crowd-pleasing blend of Caribbean rhythms and contemporary beats.

Aside from the Main Stage music lineup, Taste of Cayman is packed with entertainment from start to end, with additional performances throughout the evening.

A celebration of Cayman’s youth and culture through song and dance takes place at the All Things Cayman area sponsored by the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture & Heritage. Featured performances from some of Cayman’s talents include CayPop, Phoenix Singh, Red Bay Primary School, Cayman Youth Choir, Dreamchasers Cayman, and the Cayman Island Folk Singers.

All Things Cayman is a core entertainment element of this annual event as festival-goers can experience traditional Caymanian performances, kept alive and proudly showcased by artists like this year’s lineup.

Taste of Cayman’s entertainment goes beyond these stages with live food and drink demonstrations and competitions at other areas of the festival starting as early as 5:15 pm. For the full run of show, visit https://tasteofcayman.org/entertainment
